An activity based on Audio lingual Method

Topic: Modal Verbs
Age: 18
Objective: That students memorize the dialogue using the English language in a communicative way. 


Instructions
1. The teacher writes a dialogue on the board that contains modal verbs. 

• Dialogue: 

Jeremy: Hey Mary! Can you come to the center tomorrow? I must buy some clothes
Mary: That sounds good, but I should ask my parents first
Jeremy: Ok, and you may come with Jenny! 
Mary: Uhmm, she can't, she has to study 
Jeremy: Oh, well, see you tomorrow!

2. The teacher reads the dialogue and all the classroom repeat line by line.

3. Then, the teacher says the lines of Jeremy and the classroom say the lines of Mary. 

4. After the teacher has erased the dialogue from the board, all boys will be Jeremy and all girls will be Mary. Each group must say the corresponding line. 

5. To help students to remember the dialogue, when they have to say every line, the teacher shows a paper  with the appropiate modal verb written on it. 

6. To finish, all the classroom must say the dialogue, line by line, without any help from the teacher. 

Remember: If some student makes a mistake of pronunciation or grammar, the teacher should help the student to correct it.
